In Win XP how do you turn on F3 repeat key

Is there a command or something to turn of the repeat functions in the command window in XP

What do you exactly mean? When I press F3 it brings up the Search Companion.

I really don't think so, I know there used to be a "doskey" command which you could turn off and on.

By the way, you can also press F1 to repeat your entry char. by char.
To followchrist - he means at a C:\ prompt.

at the dos prompt or command prompt whatever your choice of name I want to be able to repeat a command such as ping 192.168.1.1 without having to retype, How do u turn that on

Doskey is on automatically in any OS after Windows 98. just hit your up arrow key to backtrack. I can't remember for sure, but I seem to recall it remembers the last 30 entries. The up and down arrow keys should recall the command lines.
