Windows XP Administrator login

Hi everyone,

Yesterday, I formatted my computer and open a limited account for each of my children and an administrator account for me with password.

Today I tried to enter in my account and my password doesn't work.

What can I do with that ?

How can I retrieved my password ?

How can I reset it ?

If you have not created a password reset disk and you have also forgotten the password for all user accounts, you cannot log on to your existing Windows installation for security reasons. This information applies to starting Windows XP typically, to Safe mode, and to Recovery Console. In this case, you must perform a "clean" installation of Windows XP, re-create all user accounts, and reinstall all of your programs.

Don't panic.
I you can boot your system from a floppy or CD, you have a lot of chances that you can reset your passwords.
I did it myself with a Linux bootable disk and a XP or NT password reset tool. Try this one:

It worked perfectly for me.

you can use ERD commander to reset your password.
also there are many tools on the net can help u retrieve your password. most of them are trial. the good think is some of them will show the first four letters of your password and this might help remember what was your password.
