The computer will power up and the Windows XP screen comes up as if it's loading, a blue screen pops up saying msln progam not found skipping autocheck then the screen goes black. The computer is running but the light on the monitor power button goes yellow. Any suggestions?

Start with F8. Try to get into safe mode or last known good config.

Go back into safe mode, download, update & run anti malware from malwarebytes.org

Then, run msconfig, go to the startup tab & uncheck everything that you don't need to load at boot time, which is almost all of it. Click apply, reboot & click ok.

Try to load Windows XP in Safe Mode by pressing F8 while it boots. If it does not work then you can connect it with another PC and perform Disc Checking.
