I screwed up my Samsung Writemaster CD/DVD burner when I uninstalled Daemon tools a long long time ago. It actually corrupted the name/model/version that XP gives to the CD drive and I am wondering if anybody knows how to fix this? I can have XP "eject" the drive, so it knows it's there, but if I put a disk in, nothing happens.

Last time it happened, I was installing RAID 1 and it magically "fixed" it and I was able to flash my Writemaster, but now it's really messed up.
There's no place like 127.0.0.1, badass part is now it's ::1

Try uninstalling the device. Right click My Computer and select properties. Then click the hardware tab and then the device manager button. Find your drive and you should be able to right click and select uninstall. Reboot the PC and Windows will re-detect it.
