My friend's PC which i am trying to fix hangs every now and then..

tried scandisk, spyware(ad aware, spyhunter, etc) and reinstalled drivers.

It could be almost anything. Do you have any more details on when it hangs or is it truly random? What hardware does he have installed?

hey everybody.

seems like my friend first reinstalled the windows and from there, it kept stuffing up.
to make things worse, he flashed bios for some reason.
followed by reinstalling drivers.

all too confusing for me . So, I advised him to upgrade his computer. It's a P3

lol.

I have had this problem also on my computer that I put together myself. The problem ended up being the BIOS settings. I had an AGP 8x video card and I set the voltage to auto when it needed to be 1.5v or 1.3v or something. The memory was also set to 400mhz, which it was (PC3200 memory), yet my processor only had a 333mhz fsb, AMD Athlon XP 2600+. So I changed the mem speed to 333 and the comp ran fine. Anybody else with this processor though, does yours run hot?
