Windows install dont see hard drive [Solved]

I am building a new computer and when i go to install the os it dont see my hard drive. i have had this issue befor but i cannot remember on the life of me how i had fixed it. the hard drive is WD-250gb-blue. I know the hard drive works becasue i booted up ubuntu and it had seen the hard drive and can access it.

okay the fix.

First off if you are using a usb cd drive to install your OS make sure its plugged into usb2.0 it does NOT like 3.0

Second is use disk part.

When it comes to the screen to ask you to find your drivers do this

Shift+F10 -> will bring up command prompt.
diskpart -> type that in
list disk -> type that in. It will then list all your drives
select disk # -> type in the # of the disk you want to use.
clean -> type that in
create partition primary -> type that in
active -> type that in
format fs=ntfs quick -> type that in
assign -> type that in
exit -> type that in to leave disk part
exit -> type that in to leave command prompt

Reboot the computer and all should be good.
