Windows Install Help

I went to install windows xp sp3 on my friends laptop and i got the error, "presetup.cmd and setupORG.exe not found." How do i attempt to reinstall windows, every time i put the cd in nothing happens.

It looks like you are using a slipstream install disk?

Read through the following forum thread. There is a lot of advice on this exact problem:

I literally can't do anything on this laptop, it won't boot from disk says something along the lines of, pxe rom.... and when i got to just let it reboot it says the same error. is my hard drive done?

I'm thinking more likely that you have a bad install disk. The information you are giving isn't enough to do more than guess at what the problem could be.

Is the disk you are using a genuine Microsoft install disk or is it a burned image or copy?
