That would be my thought, but to try to assist -- IH8purple, what error message did you get? Or what happened that prevented you from installing XP Home. The more detailed you can be about the error or what happened the easier it will be to help.

if the cd is not bootable then you may have to install a version of dos, them from there you can instal XP (had to do that on an old PI that could only hold 95)

If the CD is not bootable, it was probably burned wrong, in which case it is a bootleg. All Windows XP installation CD's are bootable.

The only other possibility is that the bios is set to boot to hard drive first. In which case alter the bios so that CD is the first boot device.

If the disk is a copy, please do not expect assistance.

Then that's your problem, you don't have an Acer computer.

I suggest you go and buy your own license. :)

You obviously missed this bit in the rules...

Quote:
No posts linking to Warez/Cracks/Sponsors etc.
They will be removed immediately without warning.

And this bit...

Quote:
Members are asked to respect the copyright of other users, sites, media, etc. Users linking to or asking for information on warez, crackz, etc. or re-printing material without permision will receive a warning and their post will be removed. The definition of cracks also includes, but is not limited to, threads or links pertaining to the subject of cicumventing any security or privacy measures intentionally placed by manufacturers in their hardware and/or software.

Those rules still apply even if we are talking about Micro$oft.

If you want the software, buy it.

southeastern - your requests for this problem have been
fulfilled. The fact you are trying to use an illegal copy of
windows and asking for help is reason enough to lock this
topic.

We do not support nor condone these types of actions, and we
would appreciate it if you kept your problems to legal ones.
