My mom's computer is getting random popup's that come in the form of "ok" alert boxes, I can not seem to figure out how to get rid of them. They do not show up in Spybot search and destroy so I have no idea where to go from there....

I think I know what your talking about. is she using XP? I'm not sure if it's the same as XP Pro, but you can go into control panel, admin tools, and click on services,, scroll down to "messenger" and double click on it. then disable it.

Also, you can go to start>run> type in services.msc , then look for messenger and disable it.

Lemme know if that works for you, like I said I'm not sure if its the same in the regular version of XP, but I know that works for XP Pro, and Server 2003, which I am currently running. :D

A guy got into my school's computer network and used the msg command to make a bomb threat. He got caught though, he was using a computer inside the network.
