Windows XP Pro, going from workgroup to domain

Hello,

We are switching all of the users on our network from a workgroup to a domain. The problem is when you switch from the workgroup to the domain windows makes a new user account. Is there a way to make is so it does not do this? Thanks,

Also, is there a way to make a new user with all the same setting as someone else on that computer, for example, if John is going on vacation and Jane needs access to his computer, can we make a new user account that has the same settings as Johns account? Thanks again,

And to answer your first question, no, there is no way to prevent it from creating a new user account.
