do you use ye ol' CUT- COPY - PASTE functions de windows?
Well the keyboard shortcuts go as follows while holding down ctrl +
X = cut
C = copy
V = paste
I use this one on a daily basis - it's easily my most used trick, especially
with forms and url's.

Here's another one (i'm just cruising through my registry thinking of stuff)...
Again, editing the registry can be dangerous if you don't know what your doing, so do this at your own risk.
This next trick allows you to decide whether windows should display the blue screen of death or if it should auto restart when the system crashes.
Go to Start > Run > regedit
In there, navigation to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\CrashControl
In there will be an option called AutoReboot, right click on this key and choose Modify, set the Value Data to 0 for blue screen, or 1 for auto-restart.

Another along the lines of Ctrl+P is CTRL+O -- This opens the URL dialog box in most browsers.

ALT+TAB switches to previous window. If multiple windows are open, holding ALT while repeatedly hitting TAB, tabs through all open windows.
CTRL+TAB Tabs through pages in a properties dialog box.
Here's a couple "Shifty" goodies:
Holding SHIFT while inserting a CDROM bypasses AutoPlay.
SHIFT+DELETE - Deletes an item immediately without sending it to the recycle bin.
In open applications, PRINT SCRN copies the entire screen to clipboard, whereas ALT+PRINT SCRN copies only the active application window to clipboard.
SHIFT+CTRL+HOME -- Selects all text from the cursor to the beginning of the document and moves cursor to beginning.
SHIFT+CTRL+END -- Selects all text from the cursor to the end of the document and moves cursor to the end.
SHIFT+CTRL+Left Arrow - Selects the word immediately to the left of the cursor.
SHIFT+CTRL+Right Arrow - Selects the word immediately to the right of the cursor.
SHIFT+Left Arrow - Selects one character to the left of the cursor.
SHIFT+Right Arrow - Selects one character to the right of the cursor.
SHIFT+End - Selects all text from the cursor to the end of the line.
SHIFT+Home - Selects all text from the cursor to the beginning of the line.
SHIFT+Insert - paste text from clipboard at the location of the cursor.
In Notepad, F5 inserts the current Time/Date

I think Ctrl+Esc is a carryover from when keyboards didn't have the Windows Start key. I could never figure out why hit two buttons when you only have to hit one? Then I remembered the old keyboards didn't have the Start key.

When I hit the F5 key it also refreshes pages for me like the Ctrl + R does.

I did say that one back on page one, but screwed it up and forgot to go back and correct it.
I also use Ctrl+A to select all, Ctrl+C to copy Ctrl+Z to Cut, and Ctrl+V to paste. Very convenient shortcuts when copying code and hypertext links.
I got Ctrl+Z (undo) confused with Ctrl + X (cut)
You have it right and thanks for adding it.
