Just discovered a slick new Firefox 1.0PR trick. (Might have been available on earlier releases but I just found it by accident).
Left click and hold any link and drag it to any open tab you like and release. The link will open in that tab. I like that one!

One-Click Shutdown
On the desktop, right-click and go to New, then to Shortcut (in other words, create a new shortcut). You should now see a pop-up window instructing you to enter a command line path. Enter one of these as the path:
Use this path if your operating system is Windows 95, 98, or Me:
C:\windows\rundll.exe user.exe,exitwindows
Use this path if your operating system is XP:
SHUTDOWN -s -t 01
If the C: drive is not your local hard drive, then replace "C" with the correct letter of the hard drive.
Click the "Next" button.
Name the shortcut and click the "Finish" button.
Now whenever you want to shut down, just click on this shortcut and you're done. Also, if you want to make life better and faster, you can right-click the new shortcut you just made, go to Properties, and type in X (or whatever letter) in the Shortcut Key box.

Remove Shortcut Arrows from Desktop Icons
Here's how you can remove those shortcut arrows from your desktop icons in Windows XP.
Start - run - regedit.
1.Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
2.find the "lnkfile"
3.Delete the "IsShortcut" registry value.
now restart, makes your desktop look a lot cleaner....

Create a Password Reset Disk
Microsoft has enhanced security features in XP including the the ability to create a floppy diskette to recover your password incase it is forgotten.
Click Start
Click Control Panel
Click User Accounts
Click on the account which you want to create a password disk
Click Prevent a forgotten password which starts the Forgotten Password Wizard . This is found under Related Tasks
Insert a blank, formatted disk into drive A, and click Next
Enter the password in the Current user account password box
To use the recovery disk, at the Welcome screen
Click the user name whose password is on the recovery disk
Click the question mark button
This causes the Did you forget your password message to appear.
Click use your password reset disk
This will start the Password Reset Wizard.
From this point, just follow the wizard's instructions and you will be able to set a new password.

My favorite is CTRL+ALT+ARROWUP/DOWN
This one turns the windows screen upside down(arrowdown) and back to normal(arrowup). It might cause screen to set to lower resolution, but not for everyone.
BTW, I'm new to the board, first webmaster forum I've registered on, I hope to have lots of fun here

Here is one I haven't seen on this Forum and I have gone through the lot today.
If you want to be nasty to a work mate and rotate the orientation of the whole screen use the following,
press together Ctrl Alt Tab and a left arrow or right arrow.
To reset press Ctrl Alt Tab up arrow or down arrow.

You can do this (at least with XP) -- right click an empty space on your desktop and select "new" then "shortcut"
highlight and copy the following:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState Hibernate
Paste it into where it says: "Type the location of the item"
Click "Next"
Type a name for the shortcut and click finish.
*notes -- I did this using XP Pro. On my system the WINDOWS directory is WINNT so if you get an alert message that says C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe cannot be found try changing WINDOWS to WINNT -- I did this twice and it worked both times. If you get any errors post the exact errors in a new post and reference these instructions.

Here's another one (i'm just cruising through my registry thinking of stuff)...
Again, editing the registry can be dangerous if you don't know what your doing, so do this at your own risk.
This next trick allows you to decide whether windows should display the blue screen of death or if it should auto restart when the system crashes.
Go to Start > Run > regedit
In there, navigation to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\CrashControl
In there will be an option called AutoReboot, right click on this key and choose Modify, set the Value Data to 0 for blue screen, or 1 for auto-restart.
Tried it on Win 98 2nd ver and crash control does not show up! Oh well back to the blue screen of death!
