KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS

Here are a few useful keyboard shortcuts ("hot combos") valid for all MS Windows 95/98/NT/2000/ME/XP/2003 32/64-bit OSes, MS Internet Explorer 3/4/5/6/7 (and newer) releases + MS Windows 16/32/64-bit applications/programs.
Note that most are available system wide, but some may work ONLY with specific MS OSes and/or particular applications/programs.

uhm.. there is no Internet Explorer 7.....or newer. lol theres netscape 7.. IE 6..?

Ctrl+Alt+Delete is a very good one

Post January 20th, 2005, 9:30 pm

eh.. its not bad.
but if you REALLY want to have one, then you can modify the controls accessible by the user in alt+ctrl+del. so like, disable the shut down and processes options.. stuff like that ;)
then disable registry editing so that they either A. have to get an ISO such as Austrumi or B. hack ur box another way? lol yea.. i have too much fun by myself..

you dont need the percent signs when accessing the temp folder. you can just go start > run > temp and it'll open it up.

hey, out of curiousity, how do you do that? also do you know how to disable the mouse too?

i havent seen this mentioned yet, but ive heard of the right Alt Arrow key down or something turns the screen up side down. i havent been able to acomplish that one yet, all it does is shut my computer down when i press it :( , so it might be the wrong keys . but i have seen it done before, same with the mouse. if its wrong someone please correct it, im not exactly sure what the keys are for that process

Post January 27th, 2005, 9:23 am

how do you do what, with alt+ctrl+del? i've compiled a list of reg keys that i find to be useful / fun / w.e and i put them on my website.. heres the url: http://www.freewebs.com/shibbyinc/AdminRegKeys.html

as for austrumi, i believe you can download that here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/austrumi/

i've never heard anything of this "flipping" your monitor and if it shuts your pc down, then someone prly told you that as a joke so that you would shut your pc down and they may have had some program to do it for them and they changed the keys from shutting down their pc to doing whatever you saw them do.

CTRL+ALT+ (any arrow key) will rotate your screen display in the direction of the arrow if your graphic card supports it.

*lol -- I knew that was going to cross somebody's mind!

Yeah, some contemporary flat panel monitors and laptops screens can be physically rotated, so this feature is now being included on newer graphics cards to adjust for that.

I've not seen this one posted yet. Hold Control-Shift and then hit Esc. This is a quick (left-handed) shortcut to the windows task manager.

This is especially useful when explorer crashes and you cannot see your start menu or any program icons. Just hit Control-Shift-Esc, click File, Run, and then type Explorer. Wha-lah, you now have your desktop and start menu back (note, you do lose most of your tray icons though until you reboot).
