I have fixed this once before but the life of me I can't remember how. the first problem is shdocvw.dll at boot up. to fix this I have tried to replace that file w/ a new one. that didn't work so I am trying to do a "maint." install of WinME. at 60% I am getting "SUWIN has caused a GPF (general protection fault) in module VERX.DLL". any help?????

Hi there,

Wasn't to sure about this one myself so, I did a search in Google for :
SUWIN has caused a GPF (general protection fault) in module VERX.DLL

From reading the articles there, the problem appears to be caused by windows media player 9.

There were a couple of solutions:

    [1] Completely remove WMP
[2] Delete C:\windows\system\wmploc.dll and rename the media directory in program files to anything else.

Heres the URL aswell incase you want it.
