Well, that's an easy fix. Just crash the hard drive and be done with it! *lol

Well, hey, if you talk her into a new one, and you wanna find a good home for the old one, let me know...

I'm after a lil thing I can carry around. I'm not after anything special, it's basically just for transferring photos from the camera when I'm out in the field so I don't run out of space on the CompactFlash cards, and just typing out documents on when I'm not home.

The problem is between XP and 98 depending on the version of 98 you have.
Try to make a connection manually. It worked for me.
I have a laptop XP, a PC XP and a PC 98 all on the wireless LAN (3com)
I had exactly the same problem.
But it's all over now.

I'm new overhere, i found this topic with google.
I don't know for sure if i have the same problem overhere.

I got one win 98 who connects wireless without a problem.
And I got 2 winXP's who send pakkets but don't recieve, and cannot obtain a IP address(or renew/repair). If i connect them with wires they both have no problem accessing the network and the www.
Any suggestion to solve this is welcome!!!

Regards,
Jasmine

tell the XP machines to connect to non secure AP's, usually you can click on the icon in the task bar in the right hand corner and it will tell you the available AP's in the area just tell it to connect to your AP. The reason it sends data but it doesn't allow your machine to connect is the XP thinks it is unsecure and there is a check box that you can check to allow the XP box to connect to your AP. Even if the you have already input the WEP key it would still think the AP is an unsecured connection and not connect. Hope this helps out some :D

here is a website that goes into a little more detail for you, the info your looking for is about 1/2 or 3/4 of the way down the page Wireless Network Connection XP
