Wireless Network problem

hi everyone
at my house we have a wireless network and all and i can't get my dads laptop to connect
it says its connected but it won't let it on the internet


Belkin 802.1b 54g
Linksys Wireless router
3 laptops/1desktop


any suggesetions

firewall enabled
channel 6
automatic ip
1xp,298 SE,1 mac
mac works fine
desktop works fine
1 laptop prob

i would really like help!!!
my dad needs a setup that won't interfere with his work wireless network

remove xp's firewall. no need for it. also just make sure you're getting
an IP at all, and it's the same subnet.

i don't have a firewall
the firewalls in the router
i'd hate to disable it though

i was talking about xp's builtin firewall. it enables by default with a new
network connection. Open up the properties and make sure it's not
selected on.

This, of course, is assuming your dad's laptop is running xp. ;)
