Hy,

I have an ADSL connection and i want to share it between 2 PCs...
So since the pcs are not in the same room i decided to get myslef a WiFi ADSL router to share my internet connection

But i have NO CLUE from where to start, or even how i should install it.
Can anyone give me some hints on how i should start this...

OS: XP PRO and XP Home Edition.
Thx for the help

Hoping you bought wireless cards for the PC's?

Different for each type, but in very basic:

Setup the router. Can offer no help on this as don't know what router your using, but you obviously need to setup the ADSL connection and the wireless. IMPORTANT whatever you do make sure you set up WEP (wireless encryption protocol) on the router. If you don't you are completely open to anyone getting into your network from outside. Trust me, i've done it and its the easiest thing in the world! If your having problems setting the system up turn it off temporarily, but just bare in mind that once you get it all finished you really want this turned on.

Once you have the router up get the wireless cards installed. Try and set everything up as DHCP. Should be an option to do this in the router. And it will probably be the default setup for the wifi cards. Once you have the wireless working you can get WEP on. Do a search on the web for setting up WEP.

Shout if you get stuck!
