Adobe Air

Hi everybody,
has anyone of you experience with Rich Internet Applications (to be located outside of a browser to run as a stand-alone clients). I am wondering about Whether I should use to Adobe Air? Can someone please give me as a tip and call for an alternative?

What's your experience level with different web technologies? In my experience Air is great if your very comfortable with Javascript or Actionscript. However, if your looking for something thats going to be running on mobile platforms as well as desktop it might be a bit more of an issue.
