it only plays on my computer

hi i am trying to burn movies i did it on my last comp now my new one will burn movies on to the dvd+r but it wont play in the dvd player only on my comp i am useing the same programs that i use on my other comp i have a toshiba satellite i am using dvd fab 5 to download them then dvd shrink to burn its just getting frustrated im not doing anything different they do burn but wont play in the dvd player please help me im getting really frustrated :hmm:

Are you sure you're not burning to a VCD or SVCD format? That's something your computer might recognize but a set top DVD player might not.

First off, try and use a period or a comma once in a while; it improves readability and gets your questions answered sooner.

Second, dM is right, DVD players are made to play SVCD, VCD, or VOD file types. After buring a disc, open it up in your computer and see what types of files actually burned to the disk. If they dont have an extension which relates to the afformentioned file types, then you may need to adjust the settings/options in your ripping/burning software.

try using a DVD-R instead of a +R they are much more supported by component DVD players where your computer burner is likely able to use either.
