saving logos with transparency and paths in eps format

Hi,
I want to create a path for an high resolution logo in adobe illustrator using live trace method save it in eps format. The issue is whether I can open it in adobe photoshop with transparent background and having path in paths pallate. I was able to copy the path created using live trace method in adobe illustrator and paste it on the logo image in photoshop. There was path available in paths pallate but there was broken paths along with complete path. All I want is automatic path created for high resolution logos in adobe illustrator and usable in photoshop with transparency and must be in eps format.
