hi I am developing a humor site and I have a collection of videoclips that i would like to post as streaming video so that my visitors don't have to download them. I was wondering if there is a free way to do this without using youtube but directly my server

<EMBED SRC="video.avi" WIDTH="125" HEIGHT="150" AUTOSTART="FALSE" loop="0">

</EMBED>

0 - Movie Plays Through Once
1 - Movie Plays Continuously

I think that it should work.

Hi, thanks, I have another question, since I have over 500 videos and 2000 photos and I cannot create this many pages manually is there a way to do this without having each photo or video on a separate page? thanks

Theres a program available that would do something like that. (As a phptp gallery). Its only for images (I think) At least thats what I used it for. I forgot the name of the program, so if I find the program I'll tell you about it.

Also, I have a thought. What if you make a administrative password protected upload page that uploads the images/videos and makes them on different, separate pages and paste a link on some other page, maybe a directory page. I think it is possible to do that in PHP or ASP. Maybe Perl too.

I use FFMPEG, and FlowPlayer. Both are free. FFMPEG converts any video to FLV format, and FlowPlayer has a nice player interface like YouTube.

is this really that easy? I tried on my myspace page cuz i didn't want to go through youtube's quality...and it simply didn't work. It's an avi format too...
Any other EMBED code around I should try?

I personally used this one;
Quote:
<embed src="http://www.website.com/video.avi" width=512 height=288 autostart="true" autoload="true" loop="1" controls="true">

Also I'm a big VLC fan...I don't like Mediaplayer because on Firefox it messes up sometime if you don't have a plug in the video doesn't show.
Like for example on this code below; What should i write instead of "MediaPlayer1" if I wanted a VLC player....?

Quote:
<object id="MediaPlayer1" CLASSID="CLSID:22d6f312-b0f6-11d0-94ab-0080c74c7e95" codebase="http://activex.microsoft.com/activex/controls/mplayer/en/nsm p2inf.cab#Version=5,1,52,701"

standby="Loading Microsoft Windows® Media Player components..." type="application/x-oleobject" width="280" height="256">

<param name="C:\Documents and Settings\Desktop\Programs\Ares\video - tittle.mpeg" value="video - tittle.mpeg">

<param name="animationatStart" value="true">

<param name="transparentatStart" value="true">

<param name="autoStart" value="true">

<param name="showControls" value="true">

<param name="Volume" value="-450">

<embed type="application/x-mplayer2" pluginspage="http://www.microsoft.com/Windows/MediaPlayer/" src="video - tittle.mpeg" name="MediaPlayer1" width=280 height=256 autostart=1 showcontrols=1 volume=-450>

</object>

Thanks
