http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/08/1 ... gle-phone/

Quote:
The new phone is an important step in Google’s plans to expand the company’s presence beyond the personal computer and into the mobile universe. Google executives have been vocal about how the mobile Web is key to the company’s plans for growth, as well as expanding the market for its products to a global audience.

I figured it would be a matter of time before Google would have its own phone.

First time I heard about this I thought the name "Android" was rather appropriate. A "bot" phone *lol.

I can picture Google dialing every mobile phone in existence in order to index the response voices of the people who answer.

voices.google.com anyone?

Next thing we know Google will have just about everything, including a space station. I wonder if the company will keep up it's customer-centred goals or give in to be another mega-money-making-machine.
