I saw someone post on another forum that there seem to be major changes in certain competitive areas. I think several people saw a huge change in the travel industry.

Yes there were a this kind of changes however it was about 2-3days ago and until yesterday search results have been turned to a stable situation.
I am thinking it was a MID-SERP (a big crawl and an update without backlinks+pr)

Lets think : BLs are updated usually between 4-5weeks and PRs updated usually between 8-10 weeks and it is about 2 weeks from the last BLs and about 9weeks from the las PRs updates so this is a new thing that we could call MIDSERP(no pr or bl update but an update upon a big crawl) and there will be a BL+PR update on the first week of September 7-10

In my opinion here is the Google Update schedule
MID-SERP: once a 2 week
BL Update: once a 5 week
PR Update: once a 10week

What you think about this schedule?
