Hey there,

What is your URL?

My advice is to make it short but still have a keyword in it.

Then, put a 301 redirect on your old file so it redirects to the new one.

were going to need some info on this,

what is the domain name
what were you thinking of shortening it down to.

I have 2 problems with the 301 redirect
firstly its not the best method

secondly, people are going to type in the short domain name and be redirected to your site and all your logos will be wrong, or your logos will be right but the new domain wont match whats on the logos.

Give us more info, we might be able to find a good solution for you.

Hi,
It’s not a big problem I know site called http://www.dwarfurl.com that provides to make long url in to a small url. It's absolutely free to use, and your newly created link will never expire. Hope this will help you. All the best!

Hey there,

What do you mean a 301 redirect is not the best method?

It is the ONLY method that transfer PR in google.

302 redirects do not do that.

Please elaborate on this.

Sincerely,
Travis Walters

well i guess it will be helpful if you are going to use your keyword as you URL and something which your visitors can easily remember...

I agree with this one! It doesn't matter how long your url is as long it is a very popular and competitive keyword! The only problem that you can encounter is how will you make that keyword rank!
