we notice a competitor is linking a website they have built, and put many of our properties on, and then linked to our site

whats the sense in that? and will google not think its strange? even worse penalise us ??

so to top it a website copies our property details text and images, and then forwards all the links to our main site??? is this causing us damage???

I don't see any reason why it would cause a problem for your website. You stand to gain whereas they would lose for simply putting up links without actual content.

You may both be penalized for it as your text will not be original content. Use the WhoIs services to find out their IP address and complain to the hosting provider.

Other than that if any competitors link back to your site this will increase you PR on Google.

Use copyscape.com to find out if your text is being duplicated anywhere else on the net, if it is change your text and you'll be rewarded because your content is being updated rather than remaining stale.

GoogleBot's love it if there's new content every time they return.

Hope this helps!
