.edu and .gov links are more valcuable as for as i know.

There is 2 way to know geographical area of any website and that is absolutely an IP address. if your website has .com TLD and website Ip address is related to Uk then it wll certainly come on Uk only result. you can check your Ip address by any tool listed at :

Yes Indeed. .edu links are authority links most of the time. Compairing apple to apple .edu are more important than .com

.edu is a trusted link than .com domain name. but usually .com is usually used for business and .edu is for education sector.
