Hi,

I have recently started up a new website and I'm using PHPNuke... anyone have any tips on getting decent google rankings?

The site is concerned with gaming and computer hardware.

Thanks

Backlinks with optimized anchor text are your key to Google with any type of site. Ensure you use all the on page methods also as you should be targeting all engines, not just Google :)

i think phpnuke uses session ids right? (yoursite.com/index.php?SID2348758937 or similar) if it does you will need to remove them have a look on the phpnuke home page for mods and stuff that is probally the best place to get help or get someone that has had experiance with phpnuke.

Good Luck

I like the design of your site. I agree with the session IDs. I don't know a whle lot about phpnuke but for my own site that uses sessions, Iadded this to the .htacess file and it solved the problem:

<IfModule mod_php4.c>
php_value session.use_trans_sid 0
</IfModule>

Give it a try and let me know if it works.

For gaming sites, you need to get rid of the session Ids if any. Most importantly, you need a few good members :-) With good members, you can easily start the website!! even if you are to change domain name, its not a problem.

And you dont need a good seo guy to guide you

actually, your question doesnt rely on seo.
not much... :-)
