Hi,
I created a website about 5 months ago and it's been submited and idexed in Google and other search engines.
There is a page ,FreeResources.html, where about 50 related links are listed, and they are all linking back to my website, but Google doesn't show any.If I type link:http://www.mywebsite.com ,no links found. If I type http://www.mywebsite.com then google finds 100 or more links.
Can anyone tell me why this happens and if there is a way to fix it?

Google doesn't really show backlinks. It will usually only display a few if any in your case. signing up in there webmaster tools department https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/ is your best bet or try using yahoos site explorer http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com yahoo tends to show more of your backlinks.

You could check your Google Backlinks here:

BTW as what wallarookiller mentioned, Google doesn't show all the backlinks of a site..It may take several weeks or months before you'll see some of your backlinks in Google. If the link on the page has lesser PageRank, there's a possibility that it may not show up..

google exports the back links when it does its PR toolbar updates.

at least this was the case during previous PR updates but we dont know if they are going to continue using this method in the future.

If your site is 5 months old, most of your backlinks were prob made after the last PR update 4.5 months ago hence they wont show up.

recently some of my BL were added in webmaster tools but it was only a portion of them.

best thing you can do is use this

http://www.submitexpress.com/cgi-bin/li ... DOMAIN.com

and just asusme that if yahoo has found the link that google has to.

FYI

http://www.searchbliss.com/seo-tools/go ... klinks.asp

will only find backlinks that were exported at last PR update as it is checking the data centers, and considering that information is reflected in the webmaster tools this webpage / tool is completely redundant.
