After 4-5 months of building quality backlinks and trying to make an interesting directory, my website was doing great with MSN and for the most part Yahoo but nowhere with Google.
After the Jagger update my site went from a 0 to a 2 PR, but I lost all my backlinks.

However, when I tested my keywords this afternoon I went from nowhere yesterday to the first page on Google for my key words!!
:D :D

I recently was given a link on the index page of a PR 5 site (appropriate to my category) and feel this is what bumped me in the serps.

There is no doubt that everything I have studied and learned on this forum is true. That what you need to do is spend time and energy developing quality content and backlinks and have patience.

Thanks to everyone on this forum for their wisdom and advice.

That is excellent to hear someone is happy with the work they have done, keep it up.

Continue promoting and marketing your site as it is a never ending battle to gain more clients. And you never want to drop on your ranking.

Well done.

I checked your bog page. It's good to know that you got a PR improvement in the recent PR update. But I see your blog is hosted on blogspot.com - so the owner of the domain is Google. It is better that you get your own domain and build your blog using Word Press or similar blogging tools. It will be good in the long run because you own the domain. Good luck !

Thank you for your response :)
Actually, the website I have been developing and marketing is one of my own domains, http://www.floridaoffshore.com. Since last year after building high quality back links I'm in the number 1 and 2 position of all search engines (including Google). My PR status is only 3, however, my position has continued to rise. (But of course all that could change with the next update and I'm probably jinxing it by even discussing it)

My blog has been great for marketing my own sites as well as clients. I find that as soon as I post a link on my blog about a website it is indexed almost immediately. With the blog PR status of 4, I think it also helps give a step up to the sites I promote with similar content (Panama City Beach, Florida info).
