I do not know if that has been brought up or not, but anyways...

I have seen this working in google and I believe also for aol. This will not work if you are trying to get ranked well in yahoo, msn, hotbot or lycos.

If you are trying to SEO for keywords ex:

'blue napkin' and 'napkins colored red', then have your title say

Some Company | Blue Napkin's Colored Red

the 's is recognized as the pluar and singular and saves you from typing the word twice. I was going to implement this strategy, but noticed you would lose both words completely in the other search engines.

As far as I can tell, google does actually distinguish between "Napkin's" and "Napkins" - they are not the same. So I don't think you can trick a search engine into thinking "Napkin's" is both singular and plural.

I could be wrong though - do you have any examples?

Yes I do have an example of a company that is number one:

Keywords: Michigan DJ

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=& ... ichigan+dj

Keywords: Michigan DJs

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=& ... chigan+djs

This 's is picked up as the plural and singular in both the title and description. This is done with the keywords 'DJ's' & 'Michigan's'

From what i have seen google will display sites that contain napkin, even if you search for napkins or napkin's. Though it will tend to show exactly what you searched for first.

I remember spotting this when i looked through my referer stats, I'll try to dig out the search term used latter.
