I've checked my logs, and I found (with a stats package) that:

Robot, hits, bandwidth, time
Googlebot (Google), 17, 673.93 KB, 22 Aug 2004 - 11:14

So it's used ~700kb, and hit 17 times (in 2 weeks), and it has only indexed 3 pages (if that)? My site is "www.bmfusion.com"

Does the "NOARCHIVE" meta tag or "NOSNIPPET" prevent other pages on the site from being indexed? What's the best way to know if it is crawling through the site, following links, and not just looking at one page that I submit to it? The "poodle" tool indicates that the links are crawlable.

I added:
Code: [ Select ]
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">

<html>
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1252">
<title>Biometallic Fusion - Ambient/Trance Music</title>
<meta name="keywords" content="ambient music biometallic fusion">
<meta name="description" content="ambient music trance biometallic fusion">
<meta name="robots" content="index, follow">
</head>
  1. <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">
  2. <html>
  3. <head>
  4. <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1252">
  5. <title>Biometallic Fusion - Ambient/Trance Music</title>
  6. <meta name="keywords" content="ambient music biometallic fusion">
  7. <meta name="description" content="ambient music trance biometallic fusion">
  8. <meta name="robots" content="index, follow">
  9. </head>

as a header because I've been told that it helps the bots index things. I also made sure the links path was two-way (verses having to use the "back" button), and that my forum main page linked back to the index page.[/code]

On a side note, is channeling PR to "www.bmfusion.com/index.html" a better idea than using just "www.bmfusion.com" or "www.bmfusion.com/" ?

I also noticed that resubmitting a URL does encourage googlebot to revisit my site; with me, I find it does all my submitted URLs withing 48 hrs.
