I would be more concerned with trying to offer potential visitors something of value. This site is just another web directory, of which there are already billions. Do we really need another one? What does yours offer that the others don't?

i agree with them, all i know that google adsense is for forum and blog. For your question you may place your ads at the navigation bar, at the primary content and the footer. Or you may click the links for your google adsense

You can place the adsense ads in your directory if it's not linking to those illegal sites.
