Why is raising your PR important? Unless you are selling links for PR (which Google takes a tough stance on), your PR has very little value.

Indeed but some webmasters considers a PR a requirement in exchanging links. So don't judge someone who wants to raise their PR, what you can do is to give suggestions and share your ideas to the person.

PR was used in many ways. Not only sites who sell links are those who uses PR but for exchanging link purposes as well. Some webmasters prefer to have a link exchange on a site that have a good PR. Simply it's because of the link juice.

there are numbers of tools available over the web but these are not reliable... these are only from their own speculation and observation... no one can predict it, its google's property... dont over indulge yourself with PR, still it doesn't prove any it's only something from google... just keep yourself credible enough...

PR can also be useful in cases like exchanging links so if you already hav a PR 5 or higher, exchanging links with relevant sites is not that hard!

besides helping to judge the quality of the site, it has nothing to do with coming up the decision of how many visitors the site is getting!
