Varies per site. If a site is known to be updated more often, the spider will come more often. As with all things, there are many factors which make up how often a site is spidered, but in my experience, frequent updates will increase the spiders visits.

I don't know exact but it may get Google to spider your site more completely and frequently as it needs to know what the content is on your pages so it may serve up the right ads. But it won't give you a boost in any way in the rankings. Won't give you any extra PR either.

Google bot is prety much resident on a number of my sites and blogs.
I set a google alert for my blogs so i know when new pages are added to the index and a couple of times i got an alert 20 minutes after i made a new post.

But it varies from site to site.

There is no timing or period fixed for google to spider website.

I think no one knows the perfect timing or no one can perfectly comment on it.

It totally depends on the google for it.

I dont know the exact number but one of my sites this month so far has been crawled 948 times.
Another site was only 396

They are updated the exact same....and they are both PR4 and they are both along the same lines.

Seotech how do know that google how many times crawls the site.

There isn't a link, Look in your web hosting statistics. It will tell you loads of things.
