I have a complimentary invite to a WebTrends Web Analytics Seminar coming here next month. We own and use WebTrends, but I've been around the block enough to know that nothing is free. I'm curious if anyone has been to one of these? Is it going to be worth the time, or am I going to have to go expecting a sales pitch?

If it helps here's a portion of the invite:

Quote:
Attend this complimentary seminar and learn:

>>The 7 key areas you should measure daily as key performance
indicators of your web initiatives.
>>How to maximize your marketing ROI by measuring campaign conversion,
paid and organic search results and customer lifetime value.
>>Best practices in integrating your web analytics with other data
such as campaign costs and product sales for a complete view of ROI.
>>Customer success stories on how other organizations have leveraged
web analytics to achieve better results.

Meet with WebTrends product experts as they provide best practices for
leveraging web analytics to measure and improve the performance of
your web initiatives.

All attendees will receive an exclusive Web Marketing Resource Kit,
valued at more than $200, which includes Industry Insights, trends and
research from leading sources such as eMarketer, CMO Council, CMO
Magazine and WebTrends.

Yep sounds like a bit of a brainwash. You may be able to still get some valuable hints though so I would still attend.

I know they are targeting alot of people that have never used Webtrends, trying to get them to buy. Depending on your knowledge of webtrends, it might be useful or not.

Thanks for the tips gang. Yeah -- I'll probably go ahead and sign up to go. I know how to say no to sales pitches and the worst that could happen is I might learn something useful. If so, I'll share what I can afterwards.
