Start learning SEO with the Wikipedia entry. Search Google "Search Engine Optimization" and you should get the wikipedia entry on the first page then click it and read the information there, it will give you a clear basic idea about SEO. Later, You can read all the SEO news sources.

Hi There,

I would like to advice you that go for SEO (On-pgae optimization and then Off-page optimization)

On page optimization consists working on the site and off page is out side the site .

On page is one time process so it should be best and just according to the needs.

After that need to concentrate on Off page and that too for long term to get desired ranking.Even i would like to advice you that till the site is live Off-page is very much needed for the site.

ON PAGE OPTIMIZATION:

1 Meta Tag Optimization
2 Title Tag Optimization
3 Optimizing Meta Description
4 Link Enhancement
5 Broken Link Check
7 Alt Tag Optimization
8 Google XML Sitemap
9 Content optimization

OFF PAGE OPTIMIZATION

1 Directory Submission
2 Manual Submissions to Search Engines
3 Manual Article Promotion to best Article directories
4 Press Release Publication to top sites during contract
5 International search engine submission
6 Forum Postings
