Hi mate, for those who don't know what a fake page rank is, please read: http://www.searchenginepromotionhelp.co ... e-rank.php

And here comes my question. Recently I came across a forum and find a nice buy of 2 domains:
http://www.ThePennyDreadful.com
http://www.mammutfestivalen.com

they have nice page rank and price, I'm doubt of it so I go to http://www.seologs.com/pr-check/pagerank.html to use the fake page rank tool to check out if it's a fake page rank.

The fake page rank detection tool show that they've valid page rank. However, when I go to Google to check who linked to it, it show 0 result.

So are those websites having fake page rank or what?

Your help is really appreciated.

thank you,
adrian

always check the backlinks of a website with yahoo, google does not show all the links coming to a site.
use yahoo's new site explorer http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/

I checked for you and they both seem to be fake,
also remember that if you have one link from a .gov or .org website that has a high google PR, sometimes your site will get the same PR with just that one link, so dont look at a pages PR, but rather how long it has been online, how many links does it have, and where the links come from, e.g link farms, directories, well ranked sites, etc.

hope that helps

good luck

Interesting :)
But PR is less important then your rank in Google I think.
Because most people don't even now wat PR is.

Firefox users can download and install SEO add ons/extensions that is handy and easy to use. One is RankQuest SEO Toolbar found at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1471

Hello. Is anyone familiar with http://www.pr10.darkseoteam.com/

When I saw this, I could not believe the google toolbar PR could be manipulated. But, obviously it can. Therefore, my question for follow SEOers and owners is how do we know which sites may be faking it versus ones that are ligit? If I want to advestise on high PR pages 6,7,etc. I am now afraid that it could be a fake PR. Any suggestions of how to investigate the real from the fake?
