I think you will find its a breach of Googles TOS.

And they rather deliberately make it hard. So I guess they don't want you to

I do not think Google really mind people doing automated query on there SERPs. Many things are written but not meant to be followed :)

And when something can be done in 1 minute why would anyone waste 1 hour on it.

Anyways no offense to Google TOS intended.

Cheers,

Is that what you really think? Google specifically states automatic queries are not allowed.

If I say or write something I EXPECT you to respect that, Don't you?

Google also has its own exceptions

Quote:
With the Google Web APIs service, software developers can query more than 3 billion web documents directly from their own computer programs. Google uses the SOAP and WSDL standards so a developer can program in his or her favorite environment - such as Java, Perl, or Visual Studio .NET.

So, don't fight children

You need to clear down the cache.

It does work but its not very reliable.

Don't get me wrong. I believe google is remiss in leaving PR out of their API. it is in fact a huge selling point for them.

I can only assume they do so because they are concerned that it can be used to somehow pervert the SERP's.

My concern was the comment which basically said rules were made to be ignored.

I believe "rules are made to be broken", but only in exceptional circumstances. where the rule is doing more damage than good.

Interesting comments from googleguy on...
http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum80/99.htm

In it he so much as says not only does google track you using the toolbar but they crossreference it with their database and can determine which sites are yours. this is basically what he says when he says they tracked down the creator of PRMaster.

So boys and girls be careful what you do. or the google will track you down and have a "quiet word" as googleguy says

I can only imagine what lurked between the lines of those "quiet words".

You are quite right again :)

Thanks for the link. I think this would stop me from voting my website everyday I visit it in a hope this would increase the PR. ;)
