may add this to list : avoid urls longer than 100 charcters ... makes it difficult for search engines to crawl... and looks spammy... :-) ...

All the tips that you have given are very useful for a SEO. But we have to include in our website "Article Submission" and "Forum Posting" "press release submission" etc.

These methods are quite helpful.

Avoiding paid links, reciprocal links form irrelevent sites.

Avoid irrelevent content in your site. Always try to put relevent and unique content, So that the site become informative and also liked by visitors as well as search engines.

Placing dead links do not add value to the website and also waste valuable resources....a good link building strategy will not only increase the page importance but will also attract targeted traffic to the respective page....

Indeed, avoid those sites who uses hidden text or the one who uses some BH techniques! A good things are softwares that you may download to detect weather a site uses BH in their site( for the site content).

Avoid hidden text. Hidden text, clocking are counted as black hat techniques in SEO. so say no to spammy techniques.
