I was just checking the datacenters at google and noticed that one datacenter now has more backlinks then the rest. This could be indicative that a dance is about to start. The datacenter that is now different is:

www-cw.google.com

and it has 1,100,000 backlinks instead of 799,000 like the rest of them do for yahoo.com.

Yeah the jumps vary alot with the big sites like Yahoo's backlinks. With smaller sites its much smaller. Backlinks for Ozzu went from about 625 to 2210 backlinks, and PR is going up to 6 :)

The new backlinks also showing up at the new datacenter:

http://www-gv.google.com/

So that makes 2 of the 10 datacenters changed.

Its the amount of links according to google that link to your site. The more links that link to you, especially if they are well established links, the better your PR (PageRank) will be thus to Google it means your site is more important and you will likely get higher positions for keywords. Usually the higher your PR, the higher the traffic that comes to your site, assuming you have lots of content (lots of words and stuff for visitors).

3 of googles's datacenters have changed now, and I am seeing the pagrank now fluctuating a bit on the Google Toolbar.

ok i think i understand, so how to you know how many people are linking to you? Do you just go to those links, punch in your website name and then see how far up the list your name comes?

Yeah in the google search field you type something like:

link:www.ozzu.com

or

link:www.yoursite.com

and you should see how many links are linking to you according to Google's database.

On the changed google datacenters Ozzu has 2210 backlinks.

It looks like all of Google's datacenters have now been updated to the new backlinks. They all show 1,100,000 backlinks for yahoo.com.
