Would having posts on relevant forums with your website as your signature help your ranking?

the posts which i make on the forums shows as a link to my site when i search in msn or yahoo as link:(mysite url).

But when i search in google it does not show even one.

The advantage of forum posting is that you get the latest knowledge online or can share your knowledge with everyone.

and one more advantage is that if anyone finds your link interested in the signature then you get more traffic by that.

It will help to some degree.
But think about it like this. What's better, having 100 links on one site or having one link on 100 sites? Meaning, Not all of the links in your sig willl have an equal value.

And some forums, like ozzu, use rel="nofollow" on sig links so they wont count for google at all.

As well as Yahoo and MSN since they also supported the rel="nofollow"

Plus, if your posts are in forums that are relevant to your website, you are interacting directly with your target audience, so that counts for something - harder to measure though.

And forum spamming isn't usually received well. You'd want to be actually participating.
