rss news feed, on every page? duplication issue

do you think it is better to have a news feed only on the homepage..

is there a case for content duplication if it is on every single page?

In most cases, one on the homepage should be enough. But if many visitors enter your site (through a search engine or from some other site) on a page other than the homepage, it might help placing the feed link on other pages too.

forget the users, im talking strictly from an seo perspective

would the search engines regard it as unnecessary duplicate content..inadvertently reducing the value and relevance of the rest of the content on the page?
