Any SEO tips for us web developers?

The only one I learned so far is keeping links in words (not images).

Any more?

Just a short checklist for you bellow:

* Inbound Link Building
* Content Vs. Keyword Density
* Image - alt/title Attributes
* Hyperlink - title Attributes
* (SE) Search Engine friendly Navigation
* Inner / Cross linking
* Content tweaking (as needed)
* Landing page support
* Outbound link management / restrictions
* Meta tag arrangements
* Engine submissions
* Analysis / Troubleshooting to insure good results for selected search phrase
* and More.....

There is much more to look at when it comes to a well rounded SEO campaign. As you can see the list combines both onpage & offpage factors.

While some of the list can be argued as the designers job, let's get real for a second - Not many designers implement ANY of those elements A.) because they have no clue, or B.) because they are only focused on selling the design, not the optimal aspects of one in the eyes of algorithmic bliss.

At any rate, I wish you luck!

Define "Backlinks" what do you mean by those? I'm new to SEO and don't know much about it.

Quality contents with natural back links will boost your site.

for me quality content always comes first then backlinks follow suddenly, because as far as i observed, some sites doesn't have enough backlinks and yet they rank so that is because of content

Those are links from other site pointing to your site without any given links to them in return.
