Setting Up Meta Tags

I acquired a source code to make my RPG with, and on my web stats, it has a list of 12 keywords, i have entered my own meta tags but they seem not to be working, and not changing the ones visible in my web stats.

I was really wondering if someone could just post their meta tags here, so that i could copy them into my header.php page, and obviously edit them. I really am having trouble with this, help appreciated.

What do you mean they aren't working? Why would they change what you see in your web stats?
