Should I ask them to remove their links to my site?

Yesterday I was up two spots higher than usual, and today I am down one spot lower than usual.

The other thing that happened since I gained these links is my Adsense money has decreased. The number of clicks has decreased and the amount I am paid has decreased by about 1/3rd. I haven't noticed any change in the ads that are running. They seem to be exactly the same to me.

Should I request that these 44,000 links be removed?

I notice that many people include links in their sig files here. Those links mostly aren't on the topic of webmastering, so aren't they off topic? Are those still going to earn them SEO points?

Upto you. If it's a quality site they are on then they will do you no harm, If it's a crap site then it's best to have them removed. Moving up or down a few places is normal, because sometimes you can drop 20 places by doing nothing if the 20 people below you do some good seo.

ozzu uses a rel="nofollow" attribute on signature links. So google doesn't follow them.
