my site, nucleo.co.uk
is going ok, but according to this site
http://www.freewebsubmission.com/link-popularity.html

my site has this web presence.

Google 0, AllTheWeb 2034, AltaVista 3, MSN 4, HotBot 8 and Lycos 5 links.
Total links for http://www.nucleo.co.uk are 2054

a few weeks ago it was
total=1030 Google=0 Alltheweb=1017 Altavista=1 MSN=4 Hotbot=5 Lycos = 3

so things are on the up for my site.

what i dont get is that in my web stats. (awstats) in cpanel, i get

Googlebot (Google) - 188 hits - 2.93mb bandwidth
Alexa (IA Archiver) - 57 hits - 1.73mb bandwidth
Unknown robot (identified by 'crawl') - 18 hits - 219.79 KB bandwith
WISENutbot (Looksmart) - 14 hits - 303.3kb bandwidth
Inktomi Slurp - 4 hits - 44kb bandwidth.

now then, this shows that google is hitting my site...
but why am i not in google yet
any help would be greatly appeciated. I am new at SEO, so please be gentle.

Looks like you have duplicate content at http://www.inucleo.co.uk that will get one of the sites banned.

As for ranking in google http://www.inucleo.co.uk is #22 for the keyword nucleo which is not bad considering google returned 700,000+ pages.

I would redo your title, descritpion and keyword tags. They don't seem to tell me what keywords you want to be found under...which means the spiders probably can't tell either. I think I'm smarter then them:)

No problem with two domain names. It's the content on each site that's the issue. You need to have unique content at each site or google will view them as dupes and drop one of the sites from the index....

I would add "professional graphics designer" to you title bar...make it the only text in the title bar. Mention it a few times in your body content. Get more links pointing to your site that read "professional graphics designer".

oh right...
so how can i get the content different?..

how about making http://www.inucleo.co.uk point to a splash page, and http://www.nucleo.co.uk point to the main page?..
would that work?

I dont know how good that link popularity thing is as i get -

Google 4, AllTheWeb 26783, AltaVista 5, MSN 7, HotBot 8 and Lycos 7 links.

And my worst enemy competitors are getting way less then me, yet i am still et to be found in the results.

I suppose time will tell but if i have got that many links then i should be getting good page rank in a few months time. Also i i do "link: http://www.wedding-designs.co.uk" i have got more than 4 links in google.

Your best bet is just setting up a .htaccess redirect...

For example, this one...

Code: [ Select ]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^domain1\.com$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.domain1.com/$1 [R=301,L]
  1. RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^domain1\.com$ [NC]
  2. RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.domain1.com/$1 [R=301,L]

Would send a URL such as...

http://domain.com/
http://domain.com/somefile.html

right to

http://www.domain.com/
http://www.domain.com/somefile.html

With a 301 permanently moved redirect (which Google likes).

You could also use this if you have several domains pointing to the same site.

Code: [ Select ]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^domain2\.com$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.domain1.com/$1 [R=301,L]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www\.domain2\.com$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.domain1.com/$1 [R=301,L]
  1. RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^domain2\.com$ [NC]
  2. RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.domain1.com/$1 [R=301,L]
  3. RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www\.domain2\.com$ [NC]
  4. RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.domain1.com/$1 [R=301,L]

Would send

http://domain2.com/
http://www.domain2.com/

to

http://www.domain1.com/

Again, with a permanent redirect, so Google will pass along that PR for those linking to domains other than your primary one.

I do this with one of my sites (I have half a dozen domains just parked looking at it), and set them to forward this way, and all my other sites, domain.com forwards to http://www.domain.com.

would this make my domain http://www.inucleo.co.uk, change to http://www.nucleo.co.uk? and pass on the PR?

in effect...

Post 3+ Months Ago

so, it would look like

Code: [ Select ]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^inucleo\.co.uk$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.nucleo.co.uk/$1 [R=301,L]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www\.inucleo\.co.uk$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.nucleo.co.uk/$1 [R=301,L]
  1. RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^inucleo\.co.uk$ [NC]
  2. RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.nucleo.co.uk/$1 [R=301,L]
  3. RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www\.inucleo\.co.uk$ [NC]
  4. RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.nucleo.co.uk/$1 [R=301,L]

would that loook ok?

and google wont peanalise http://www.nucleo.co.uk anymore, from bein indexed?

About the same as nucleo, some of my other sites lost a lot of PR though, but i have neglected them and aint gonna bother renewing the domains.

Woohoo, the subdomain from wedding designs (demo.wedding-designs.co.uk) has got a pr of two, so i might add a link back to the main page.

each title should target a different keyphrase. with them all the same you are just wasting valuable area.

I found that using the title or part of the title of a page in the anchor text that links to it to be successful. So why don't you redo you titles to match the links that point to those pages

Nucleo's Domain - Professional Graphics Design 'Home'

what do you advice?

and what is ancor text (im new at seo)

OK..I see your titles are now different but I would move the topic closer to the beginning of the title text. For your wallpapers page you have "Nucleo's Domain - Professional Graphics Designer 'Wallpapers'" I would make that something link this: "Graphics Wallpaper - Professional design from Nucleo"

Anchor text it the text that links are made up from. I would add a footer to each page in your site and add to the footer links to all the sections in your site. The site map is good for getting all your pages indexed but the footer pass PR better to your internal pages. In the footer use descriptive anchor text. Like for the wallpapers page I would link to it with a link reading Wallpaper Graphics. Do this with a java script or server side include so you can maintain it easily....only one file to update if you add or remove sections to your site.

Post 3+ Months Ago

two reasons...

1. - It helps with keyword density on your page. Keyword Density is the percentage of keywords in relation to other text on the page. Check it here: http://www.keyworddensity.com/

2. When the image is a link...like your menu buttons it helps identify what the link is about. Similar to anchor text but not as effective.

I just found something I never noticed before....mybe it's new. When you go and look at your cached version of your page in google....there's an otpion to view cached text only. My bet is that this is what the spider sees, not including links...as your content. You can then see the effect of the alt tags...your graphics and graphic links are replaced with the alt text.

some people like stuffing them with keywords, but that could be seen as spamming. I personally try to put in text that describes what the link points to while still having one keyword in it towards the beginning of the tag.

Links to resources - I've been reading alot of speculation that goohoo are starting to look at pages named "links" and discounting them...you don't have to call it resources...but I wouldn't call it links...just to be safe.

A 301 direct may help your PR...although it may pass the link page penalty or whatever it is...if not a penalty.

I've started to use "companies" for my links page on newer site. Resources may not be such a good choice since that would be easy to filter for....usefulsites is good...as the name suggests ;)

nucleo.co.uk has still to be accepted in the serps :(

but there is one bonus...
3rd page for "professional Graphics Designer" is this exact url in the thread lol out of 897,000 results hahah

well, anyway, what im gonna do is merely change the name of the page from links to something else, im not gonna actually change the graphic for it, only any related text :)
