About Traffic

I dont know if there was a post like that previously, i assume yes but even though :

What do you think is the best way to get traffic free/paid, how do you do it with your sites.. i dont want you to reveal your secret weapons.. just some basic advices and some general information..

and also please provide like a list of opportunities that you see for a just starting website to get decent traffic .. please any discussions on that will be highly appreciated.

Small (professional) Topic-Specific Directories - or - Big Search Engines and Directories ... and also what do you think about article submission as a method of advertising your website .. and can some offer something more challenging, something that can offer better results - in CTR and visitors as a whole ...

I started a site from scratch and sold it for a high $x,xxx when it got 40,000 visitors in less than 2 months.

The source:
- link exchanges with similar websites
- search engines courtesy of good SEO
- community sites, e.g. Fark.com, Digg.com, etc
- bookmark sites, e.g. Furl.net, Del.ico.us, etc
- word of mouth courtesy of quality content

Hand picked link exchanges with topic-related sites (even some which you might consider competition). Avoid link-farms!

Free article submission can work well, from what I hear.

And, yes, quality content is king.
