Hi All,

Does anyone know a good Ranking program, that can check your sites current rankings?

I know WEB CEO has it, but I am after a simple program that will check uk listing for keywords, and return your rank.

Regards

Rich

Not sure if these are quite what you're after:

I would recommend against using any kind of software to perform ranking checks of any sort - particularly with the "top dog" search engines. Programs like Web CEO and Web Position Gold.

i.e - here is an exert from Google's guidelines:

Quote:
Don't use unauthorized computer programs to submit pages, check rankings, etc. Such programs consume computing resources and violate our terms of service. Google does not recommend the use of products such as WebPosition Gold™ that send automatic or programmatic queries to Google.

As far as the links ATNO provided as well as any other website providing ranking information, to the best of my knowledge - it is the safer route to take and is "ok".

you won't get a good tool for free, i think. another way is to get a site already with traffic and PR. try for expired and deleted domains http://www.domainbroadcasting.com . you get a quick overview in realtime and the domains are immediately free! you don't have to wait 90 days and they check the pagerank too..

There are a few sites that allow you to check ranking through their site:

http://www.rankwhere.com/
http://www.gorank.com/seotools/

But if you want to check a list of keywords against a number of different engines on a regular basis the only one I know (and the one I use) is web position gold. It's not cheap but it does the job well.

I have had no problem with Google or any of the other majors - in fact Google is now (from ver 3.5) accessed programatically from within wpg via the API that Google provides - so no problem there.
