This may be in the wrong section and can be moved- I looked , did not know where to put.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How does one get a Copyright on their website?

I see them on sites and can not figure out where to go to get one myself.

Anyone know?

One more.....

How about things you can put on your website to make people feel more secure when buying from you.

Anybody else deal with these issues?

Thanks! Swan

I noticed you're using Paypal - so all you can really do is get the Paypal verification seal from their website.

Also, there is always the Better Business Bureau for the internet. If you are accepted you can place a icon on your site - this relieves some customers when they see that logo.

I've There is also a Bizrate medal you can use, which we find to be quite effective:

http://ornamentshop.com/Catalog.asp?cat=1 (near bottom of page)

This way customers can see reviews from past buyers from your site.

If you're refering to the actual copyright symbol, well, somebody else answered that. If you're refering to legal protection, that varies by country.

Suzie's link is informative but kind of funny: "The best 'rule of thumb' is if you have to pay to download it, then it's legal. If you are getting it for free, it's probably not, unless the sight belongs to the copyright holder and they specifically indicate their approval."

I guess I'm "probably" breaking the law by downloading these HTML documents from Ozzu

Thanks for the input guys. It just seems that every site I go to has the copyright thing at the bottom. Mine does not and I thought that might scare people off.

Thanks! Swan

everything online is copyrighted by default.
if you are looking for more security, maybe a C-site time stamp/application will help.

you can get the application off godaddy.com. Cant miss it :-)
