Well, you're code isn't really all that bad, so congrats on keeping things clean and simple as a start.

Yes, css should help improve your google ranking because it'll strip some of the styling out of html making it easier for search engines to find information. On the first page, you can even completely eliminate your only table by setting margins for the body.

I'm not sure exactly how much css will improve your ranking, but optimizing your website should prove to have positive results. You should be able to cut code drastically reducing download time as well. Just make sure your website is xhtml compliant and you should be good to go.

Good luck. Let us know of any progress.

CSS WILL improve your rankings especially if you mix it with scemantic markup.

Try to make XHTML code that will give meaning to the document even if someone tries to understand it by reading it's code:
eg:
Code: [ Select ]
<p class="comments_from_admin">This is an Admin comment</p>

will make your page understandable to search engines

For example people search for [url=http://www.google.nl/search?hl=nl&ie=UTF-8&q=typo-3+size+unused+extensions&lr=]
typo-3 size unused extensions[/url]

and my site appears 7th just because it includes word "unused" in it's content

Hi,

I use CSS on every site that i do, and the results are great.

looking at the your code, the contant of the page starts on line 78. With proper re-coding in css, when i say re-coding, i mean optimising head tags too, the content should start about line 13 to 16. Not only this but it would also take out all of the code that doesn't validate in the html validator on w3.org.

In my experiance, although the page looks no diffrent to the client, the code running it can sometimes go from 180 lines of code to 40! In my experiance, this has a massive effect on yur website rankings.

I see that your site is listed on DMOZ. If you want to rank high for those key words you need to get more links coming into your site with those key words as anchor text. I think that would be the best way to improve the ranking.
